Biography

Kris McGuirk is a young dynamic Irishman, with a passion and enthusiasm for his chosen craft that is nothing short of infectious. Fast making an international reputation for himself in the field of destination wedding photography, his work has been variously described as atmospheric, stylish, elegant and cosmopolitan.

Kris originally graduated with a degree in finance, and spent ten years as a broker in the City of London before returning to Dublin to explore his more creative side and study photography. His two years as Assistant to Ireland's leading fashion photographer, Barry McCall, gave him in-depth experience of that industry and led on to work with award winning portrait photographer Mark McCall before he finally took the plunge and formed his own highly successful company.

Kris shot his first wedding in Dublin whilst still in college and immediately fell in love with all the possibilities that it involved, deciding then and there that this, along with portraiture would be his area of expertise.

"It is a privilege as well as a pleasure to be included in such a special occasion,” he says. “When you think that months and even years of planning may have gone into making the day an unforgettable one".

Kris has that special talent which raises his work above the average. His ability to locate the perfect image make his photographs stand out, capturing the essence of the moment and preserving it through the magic eye of the camera lens. He frequently combines traditional colour photography with the more evocative black and white, offering both options to his clients so that they have optimum choice from the finished results.
